Central Oregon Locavore is partnering with farmers and producers who are interested the localization movement and in developing new ways to reach more customers. In addition Central Oregon Locavore will increase our community's food independence and foster local relationships among like-minded individuals. If you are interested in selling through our online market place, please Register Now. We will contact you by email or phone about the process of selling through Central Oregon Locavore.
|
| Central Oregon Locavore lets you focus on your farming or business, while we find local buyers for your food or products. You only have to deliver to one site, and not hand-deliver to individual customers, which can cost you valuable time, resources and energy. Each farmer/producer will be highlighted in our Farmers section so that buyers can put a name and a face to the wholesome local food and wonderful products that they are purchasing. |
-
When you first create your account, using an online tool, you will enter each item that you will be selling, and the amount that you think they will have available the following Thursday. At the beginning of each ordering period your inventory will automatically re-populate with the amount that was last put in for each item. You may adjust this inventory at any time.
- Once product is entered, members (customers) can begin to purchase this item by placing orders through our secure site.
-
Central Oregon Locavore will closely monitor the orders as the week progresses.
-
You may keep tabs on the sales of your products by logging into your account periodically throughout the week.
- On Tuesday at noon the ordering period automatically shuts down. Each farmer/producer will receive an email detailing what they need to harvest and/or deliver on Thursday.
- Wednesday/Thursday are harvest/get ready days. Pick what you need to and prepare it for delivery to our drop-site located at the 1216 NE 1st St, between Greenwood and Olney. Don't forget to take note of what you think you will have available next week.
- Thursday morning, deliver your produce to the Locavore drop-site before 3pm. We will have signs to help you find the location the first time you drop. You may also contact Cascade Couriers who have partnered with Locavore to bring your orders to the site for $5 (soon to be subsidized to less or free of charge). Contact cascadecouriers (at) gmail (dot) com to schedule an order pick-up. We strongly encourage you to utilize this fantastic resource.
- A check will be mailed to you for the products sold within 5 days.
- After the pick-tickets are sent out, we automatically re-open the ordering for the next order pick-up event and we begin all over again.
