| 4/18-21 - Small Farmer's Journal Horsedrawn Auction & Swap |
| Horsedrawn Auction & Swap
April 18 - 21, 2012, Weds. thru Sat.
Jefferson County Fairgrounds, Madras, Oregon
The Small Farmer’s Journal is an international quarterly magazine about craftsmanship in farming, culture in agriculture and animal-powered farm technologies. Small Farmer’s Journal works to advocate small-scale independent family farming and the lifestyle and values it represents.
For 33 years, the Small Farmer’s Journal has held an annual auction and swap meet featuring draft horses, horsedrawn equipment, carriages, wagons and all related equipment to farming with draft horses, oxen and mules. In conjunction with the auction we have invited vendors to participate in our swap meet. Many vendors have returned year after year. Besides being a profitable venue for their wares they are able to renew acquaintances they may only see one time a year. Our “buyers” are our customers and friends and come from all areas of the United States. It is like “old home week” when they arrive. We’d like to invite you to come meet them and become members of “our family.”
In conjunction with the auction and swap meet we are holding our Small Farm Trade Fair. Our goal of the Small Farm Trade Fair is to share values, skills, knowledge and ideals to promote vibrant, independent family farms.
Sustainable living is the voice of today. We hope to provide those interested in sustainable living with many ideas and opportunities to obtain their goals.
The Swap Meet is open to horsedrawn items, small farm products and services, livestock misc., farm & country antiques, green living and self sufficiency tools. Seeds, produce, clothing, furnishings, tools, and gadgets are all welcome and encouraged.. |
